Building and Landscaping Services

Mission Statement

The Department of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for maintaining the facility in areas of patient care and physical maintenance and, in keeping with that charge, we strive for customer service excellence, dependability, and strong communication. Our goal is to provide a world-class facility that is valued by the University and surrounding community.

Departments

Housekeeping

• The Hospital Housekeeping Department is responsible for the cleaning of the John Dempsey Hospital, and Clinic Buildings.
  • Hours of Operation: 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• The Academic Housekeeping Department is responsible for the cleaning of the Academic and Research Buildings.
  • Hours of Operation: 4 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Landscaping Services

• Bob Ferraro, Supervisor
  • Our Grounds Department endeavors to maintain an aesthetically pleasing campus. Responsibilities include lawn care, flower gardens, tree maintenance and litter control.
    • Hours of Operation: 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Linen Services

• Mike Waltos, Supervisor
  • The linen department delivers and picks up linen throughout the institution.
    • Hours of Operation: 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday
      6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Minor Maintenance

• Minor maintenance provides the following types of tasks: room set-ups, light bulb changing, paper shredding, recycling
  • Hours of Operation: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
